Applicants Selected for FY23 Brownfields Job Training Grants
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is announcing the selection of 29 communities for approximately $14 million in Brownfields Job Training grants to recruit, train, and place unemployed and underemployed individuals with the skills needed to secure long-term employment in the environmental field. Each recipient will receive funds to develop and operate environmental job training programs that advance environmental justice by providing opportunities for residents living in areas impacted by contaminated lands. Funding for this selection is provided entirely by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Thanks to this funding, total available funding has more than tripled compared to fiscal year 2022.
