2025 California Wildfires
EPA’s work is part of an all-of-government response to the Los Angeles wildfires. EPA and other responding federal agencies are approaching their work in communities with utmost respect.

- safely dispose of hazardous materials from all burned areas.
EPA’s work removing hazardous materials is Phase 1 of the federal cleanup response and is free to residents.
- Teams from California’s Department of Toxic Substances Control will be working with EPA as part of our unified response.
- All work will also be done in close coordination with state, county, and local government partners.
