Final CAAAC Report on NASEM Indoor Chemistry Report
Approved for submittal to the EPA by the Clean Air Act Advisory Committee on July 11, 2023.
The CAAAC submitted to the EPA, a report prepared by the CAAAC Indoor Chemistry Working Group at the request of the EPA Indoor Environments Division Office of Radiation and Indoor Air, which asked that it provide recommendations prioritizing the research needs identified by the NASEM in their consensus report: Why Indoor Chemistry Matters. The focus was on priorities for short term research (1-3 years) that could inform public health guidance and building practices for improving Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in homes, schools, and commercial and office buildings. The final report was presented to the full CAAAC for deliberation and approval during the June 27, 2023 meeting. The committee adopted and approved the report on July 11, 2023.
