Join the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for webinars on the dangers of lead and ways to reduce and prevent lead exposure. The webinars will focus on the Lead Awareness Curriculum, an adaptable resource for educating and protecting communities from potential lead exposure.  

These webinars are intended for community leaders with experience educating and training members of their communities. The webinars will teach attendees how to use and modify the Lead Awareness Curriculum to educate their communities about lead, lead exposure, and actions to reduce and prevent childhood lead exposure. Prior knowledge of lead or lead exposure is not needed to use the curriculum and attendees will receive a digital certificate of participation after completing the session. 

EPA is hosting two webinars:  

• Wednesday, June 12, 2024, 1–3:30 p.m. EDT (Presented in Spanish)

• Tuesday, June 25, 2024, 1—3:30 p.m. EDT (Presented in English)

Last year, EPA launched its Community Lead Awareness Initiative, a series of free, in-person educational sessions, focusing on communities that are especially vulnerable to lead exposure. This focus reflects EPA’s commitment to promoting environmental justice in parts of the country disproportionately impacted by lead, as described in the Agency-wide Lead Strategy released in October 2022. Since launching the initiative, more than 2,800 people from 102 communities have participated in 127 educational sessions. The initiative also supports the Lead Strategy’s commitment to using various methods — including the development of new and improved outreach materials — to reduce lead exposure and educate communities on the risks of lead exposure.

Inscríbase a un Seminario Web de la EPA Sobre La Reducción de la Exposición al Plomo en su Comunidad 

Únase a la Agencia d Protección Ambiental de Estados Unidos (EPA, por sus siglas en inglés) en un seminario web sobre los peligros del plomo y medidas para reducir y prevenir la exposición al plomo. Los seminarios web se centrarán en el Plan de estudios de concientización sobre el plomo, un recurso para educar y proteger a las comunidades de la exposición al plomo.

Este seminario web está dirigido a líderes comunitarios con experiencia en educar y capacitar miembros de sus comunidades. El seminario web enseñará a los asistentes cómo usar y modificar el Plan de estudios de concientización sobre el plomo para educar sus comunidades sobre el plomo, la exposición al plomo y medidas para reducir y prevenir la exposición infantil al plomo. No es necesario tener conocimientos previos sobre el plomo o la exposición al plomo y los asistentes recibirán un reconocimiento digital tras completar la sesión.
