Reminder: Submit Your Application for a Pollution Prevention Grant by April 11
Released on March 30, 2022.
On February 9, 2022, EPA announced $23 million in two grant funding opportunities for states and tribes to develop and provide businesses with information, training and tools to help them adopt pollution prevention (P2) practices. A new P2 grant of approximately $14 million is funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. For the first time, this funding is available with no grantee matching requirement, increasing access to funds for all communities. There is also a second grant opportunity for the traditional P2 grants program for approximately $9 million. Proposals are due by April 11.
Eligible applicants include states, state entities such as universities, U.S. territories and possessions, and federally recognized tribes and intertribal consortia. Applicants are strongly encouraged to consider partnering with others in the P2 stakeholder community to strengthen their ability to provide P2 technical assistance to businesses and facilitate the development, adoption, and dissemination of P2 solutions.
To assist potential applicants, on March 23, 2022, EPA made available four webinar recordings to educate grant applicants and stakeholders. The webinars reviewed information about P2 and the grant application process to help potential applicants submit high-quality applications to EPA for consideration.
Additional information is available on www.grants.gov under Funding Opportunity Announcements EPA-HQ-OPPT-2022-001 and EPA-I-OCSPP-OPPT-FY2022-001. Please consult the solicitation for further details. EPA anticipates announcing the grant recipients on a rolling basis starting in late summer.
