Hours of Operation
The EPA-RTP Library is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The library is open to the public by appointment only. To set up an appointment, please contact the library at [email protected] or (919) 541-2777. All visitors must have a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card or one of these alternative acceptable photo identification documents to enter the facility.
Borrowing Policy and Interlibrary Loans
Information For Other Libraries: We freely share materials with other libraries via the OCLC Interlibrary Loan system. Our OCLC symbol is EKB, and we are members of FEDL (Federal Libraries and Information Centers) and LVIS (Libraries Very Interested in Sharing). The EPA-RTP Library also participates in Interlibrary Loan through the National Library of Medicine’s DOCLINE system. Our DOCLINE “lib id” is NCUEPA. For libraries that do not have OCLC or DOCLINE access, please contact the Interlibrary Loan librarian at (919) 541-2777 or [email protected] for alternate methods.
About the Collection
The EPA-RTP Library houses an impressive array of information, including more than 1000 journal titles, over 6,000 books, 150,000 microfiche documents, and paper copies of more than 13,000 EPA, trade association, international agency, and other Federal agency documents. The main focus of the collection is air pollution. We emphasize chemical toxicity, chemistry, meteorology, geophysics and related sciences. Our collection is supplemented with business, management, economic, and computer related information.
