Hours of Operation
The EPA-RTP Library is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The public may visit the library 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday. All visitors must have photo identification to enter the facility.
Borrowing Policy and Interlibrary Loans
The library’s collection and resources are available for loan to EPA staff and onsite contractors only. Microfiche reader/printers and copy machines are available in the library for public use.

Information For Other Libraries: We freely share materials with other libraries via the OCLC Interlibrary Loan system. Our OCLC symbol is EKB, and we are members of FEDL (Federal Libraries and Information Centers) and LVIS (Libraries Very Interested in Sharing). The EPA-RTP Library also participates in Interlibrary Loan through the National Library of Medicine’s DOCLINE system. Our DOCLINE “lib id” is NCUEPA. About the Collection
The EPA-RTP Library houses an impressive array of information, including more than 1000 journal titles, over 6,000 books, 150,000 microfiche documents, and paper copies of more than 13,000 EPA, trade association, international agency, and other Federal agency documents. The main focus of the collection is air pollution. We emphasize chemical toxicity, chemistry, meteorology, geophysics and related sciences. Our collection is supplemented with business, management, economic, and computer related information.
