ETAP Assessments
The ETAP is a human health assessment approach that measures changes in gene activity in short-term, animal-based studies to identify how much of a chemical is needed to alter gene activity and related biological processes. The changes in gene activity are translated into a reference value, which is an estimate of the daily dose of a chemical that would likely be without appreciable risk to human health. ETAP provides key data that may facilitate timely public health and regulatory decision-making.
