Everglades Ecosystem Assessment: Water Management and Quality, Eutrophication, Mercury Contamination, Soils and Habitat - EPA 904-R-07-001, August 2007
This report describes conditions at 1000 Everglades locations sampled by USEPA’s Regional Environmental Monitoring and Assessment Program (REMAP) during 1993-1996, 1999, and 2005. REMAP is a monitoring and assessment effort that provides critical scientific information for management decisions on the Everglades ecosystem and its restoration. REMAP is unique to the Everglades in combining several aspects of scientific study: a probability-based sampling design which permits quantitative statements across space about the condition of the Everglades; multi-media sampling; and spatial coverage that includes all of the freshwater Everglades.
