EPA-I-OLEM-OBLR-24-01 (pdf)
- Closing Date: March 1, 2024.
The EPA’s Office of Brownfields and Land Revitalization is soliciting applications from eligible entities to provide Revolving Loan Fund Technical Assistance (RLF TA) that directly benefits entities nationwide that are eligible for EPA Brownfield RLF Grants to build sustainable RLF Programs. The purpose of this grant is to provide RLF TA that focuses on the unique complexities of EPA Brownfield RLF Grants with the goal of increasing the capacity of EPA-funded Brownfield RLF Programs nationwide. This grant is intended to 1) help communities that have not previously engaged in brownfields projects to gain an understanding of requirements for managing a successful RLF Program, and 2) build capacity for existing RLF CARs, so that they can better manage their RLF Programs when the grant is open (i.e., operating under a cooperative agreement) and in post-closeout status [i.e., operating under a closeout agreement (COA)].

- FY25 Brownfields Job Training (JT) Grants
EPA-I-OLEM-OBLR-24-02 (pdf) - Closing Date: August 15, 2024.
This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications from eligible entities and nonprofit organizations to deliver Brownfields Job Training programs that recruit, train, and retain a local, skilled workforce by prioritizing unemployed and under-employed residents to obtain the skills and credentials needed for pathways into full-time employment in various aspects of hazardous and solid waste management and within the larger environmental field, including sustainable cleanup and reuse, and chemical safety. This program is being funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, Public Law 117-58 (the “Bipartisan Infrastructure Law”).

This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications for two separate projects to provide training, technical assistance, research, and tools to Tribal environmental staff to build Tribal capacity to develop sustainable waste management programs and implement cleanup, prevention, and response programs in Indian country. The recipient will also conduct activities under the two cooperative agreements that promote discussion, collaboration, engagement, and partnership among Tribes and federal agency representatives.

Office of Resource Conservation and Recovery
- Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) Grant Program for Political Subdivisions of States and Territories
EPA-I-OLEM-ORCR-24-05 (pdf) - Closing Date: December 20, 2024.
The EPA is soliciting applications for a wide variety of projects that are designed to build and transform solid waste infrastructure in the United States to equitably reduce waste and manage materials to achieve a circular economy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and create cleaner, resilient, and healthier communities. EPA encourages applications that demonstrate innovative solutions and programs that provide or increase access to prevention, reuse, recycling, anaerobic digestion, and composting opportunities in areas that currently do not have access. Additionally, EPA is seeking post-consumer materials management projects that address environmental justice concerns and focus predominantly on addressing the disproportionate and adverse human health, environmental, climate-related and other cumulative impacts, as well as the accompanying economic challenges of such impacts, resulting from industrial, governmental, commercial and/or other actions that have affected and/or currently affect people/communities of color, low income, tribal, and indigenous populations, and if applicable other vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with pre-existing medical conditions.
