Speakers from industry, a nonprofit organization, academia and EPA discussed the growing impact of the Safer Choice program to increase use of safer ingredients throughout the value chain and how P2 practitioners can increase use and development of safer products.
July 10, 2024: Moving the Needle on Reuse: Reusable Food Service Ware (Part II)
This webinar continued the conversation from April's Part I webinar about reusable food service ware, an important strategy for preventing pollution. Reuse experts from across the country explained how businesses, cities, states, and non-profits are working together to scale reuse in their communities, including a community-wide reusable food service ware system in Hilo, Hawai’i supported through an EPA Pollution Prevention grant.
June 12, 2024: Putting the Brakes on Pollution in Automotive Maintenance and Repair
This webinar explored the successes and challenges preventing pollution in automotive maintenance and repair. The webinar highlighted pollution prevention projects funded by EPA that have reduced the use of toxic substances, conserved natural resources and increased the use of cleaner solvents at automotive maintenance and repair businesses. Speakers included EPA pollution prevention grantees, including state agencies and public universities.
May 8, 2024: Reducing PFAS in Products: Progress and Challenges
This webinar examined EPA’s PFAS Strategic Roadmap and a new online tool for EPA’s Recommendations of Specifications, Standards, and Ecolabels for Federal Purchasing that highlights how standards and ecolabels address PFAS. Speakers from EPA, EPA grantees, and a nonprofit organization discussed the progress they have made to increase the availability and use of products without PFAS, and the challenges that remain.
