Proposed Rule for Control of Air Pollution From Aircraft Engines; Emission Standards and Test Procedures
On this page:
Rule Summary
The EPA proposed particulate matter (PM) emission standards and test procedures for civil aircraft engines. The proposed standards would apply to new type design and in-production civil aircraft engines with rated output of greater than 26.7 kilonewtons. These engines are typically used in commercial passenger and freight aircraft and in larger business jets. The proposed standards would align with the United Nations' International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) PM standards and would take effect on January 1, 2023.
