Staples is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Retailer (as well as a noteworthy Formulator-Manufacturer and Distributor). Staples is an office superstore with retail, online, and delivery capabilities. Staples has made investments to source and sell safer products, including the Sustainable Earth by Staples™ line of cleaning products. Safer Choice commends Staples’ dedication to safer product development, as evidenced by its research hub and testing lab. Also, the company uses and promotes the Safer Choice Safer Chemical Ingredients List and CleanGredients®. Staples emphasizes standards for suppliers, which expands the recognition and reach of the Safer Choice program through the supply chain.

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., Rochester, NY 

Wegmans is being recognized as an outstanding Safer Choice Retailer. Wegmans is major retail chain that recently introduced a new line of cleaning products made with safer ingredients. Safer Choice commends Wegmans for its prominent use of the Safer Choice label, most notably in end cap displays and newsletters. Wegmans conducted employee and customer education sessions to promote awareness of and trust in the Safer Choice label. In researching and introducing its new line of Safer Choice products, the company learned that many customers are interested in safer products, provided they are effective.
