EPA Responds to Administrative Petitions and Withdraws Proposed Error Correction for Areas in Texas
On June 10, 2020, EPA denied two petitions for reconsideration and two requests for administrative stay of its 2016 nonattainment designations for the 2010 primary Sulfur Dioxide (SO2) National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) for three areas in Texas. These ares include:
- Portions of Freestone and Anderson Counties,
- Rusk and Panola Counties, and
- Titus County.
Additionally, EPA withdrew its August 2019 error correction that proposed to change the designations from nonattainment to unclassifiable for these three areas. See the associated Federal Register notices for more information:
