Background
The West Troy Contaminated Aquifer (WTCA) site is located just north of the City of Troy and adjacent unincorporated portions of Miami County, Ohio. The site consists of a plume of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that affected underground water. Tetrachloroethene or PCE is the primary VOC detected at the site.
VOCs were detected in a Troy wellfield located east of the Great Miami River since the late 1980s and early 1990s. The first Ohio EPA field investigation began in 1997. From 2001 to 2005 Ohio EPA conducted several site assessments and site inspections to locate a potential source or sources of ...
