Tribal Programs in EPA's Pacific Southwest (Region 9)
EPA’s Pacific Southwest Region (Region 9) is committed to helping Tribes strengthen their abilities to manage environmental programs in Indian Country, and to ensure that Tribes have a voice in decisions that affect their land, air and water. The regional office serves 148 federally-recognized Tribes in Arizona, California and Nevada.

Tribal Air
The Tribal Air Program assists with air quality planning, permitting, rulemaking, enforcement and compliance, indoor air, monitoring and related technical support, grants, and climate change.

Tribal Water
Tribal Clean Water Act programs and grants support monitoring, assessment, protection, prevention of polluted runoff in waterways and wastewater infrastructure.

GAP Funding
The GAP (General Assistance Program) helps Tribes develop the capacity to plan and establish environmental protection programs to meet their individual needs.

Federally-Recognized Tribes
A list of all 148 federally-recognized Tribes, and a map of Tribal lands, in EPA's Pacific Southwest (Region 9).

RTOC
The Regional Tribal Operations Committee (RTOC) is a working committee of EPA and Tribal personnel co-chaired by an EPA representative and a Tribal representative.
