Basin Green Solutions Pilot Project
Kansas City’s Middle Blue River Basin Green Solutions Pilot Project is the first green infrastructure project to be completed as part of the City’s 25-year Overflow Control Program, which is designed to improve water quality by reducing the frequency and volume of sewer overflows. Kansas City’s Overflow Control Program represents the largest infrastructure investment in Kansas City’s history. The Program’s city-wide approach to addressing sewer overflows will improve water quality, support local workforce development, and is the first federally approved Consent Decree to incorporate green solutions such as the improvements implemented as part of the Middle Blue River Basin Green Solutions Pilot Project.
