How We Engage Our Pesticide Stakeholders
Our success is directly connected to our efforts to engage all stakeholders. In addition to meetings on pesticide-specific actions, we sponsor advisory committees that include representatives of pesticide manufacturers, consumer, health, and environmental organizations, academic institutions and others.
- The Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC) and its many workgroups advise on a wide variety of program implementation topics.
- FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP) advises on scientifically challenging risk assessment issues.
Our headquarters and regional offices partner with state, territory, and tribal governments to responsibly manage pesticide regulatory and enforcement programs. These programs:
- Manage cooperative agreements with states, tribes, and territories for enforcing pesticide laws, directing applicator training and certification programs, and promoting initiatives that reduce pesticide risks.
- Register pesticide producing establishments.
- Monitor the importation and Internet sales of pesticides.
- Communicate with the public on local pesticide issues.
